These pictures were taken in the old part of Quito which is some times referred to as the "Historic Center."  Before the Spaniards arrived, the valley of Quito was occupied by the Quitu tribes and later by the Inca's.  The Spaniards officially founded the City of San Francisco de Quito in December 1534.   The historic center of Quito was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978.  Below are some pictures that I have taken trying to capture this beautiful historic city.  I hope you enjoy them!
